Hey there

Let me introduce myself: my name is Krisztina Petromán, and I am the owner of Duttonland, a small Italian Greyhound kennel. I have been surrounded by dogs and other small animals since the day I was born. From early childhood, I was obsessively in love with horses. Lacking a horse of my own, I spent almost every weekend riding until I turned 20, and I also loved spending time among the animals on my cousins' farm. After high school, in 2010, I became a professional dog groomer, which turned from a new passion into my lifelong career. That same year, encouraged by my friends in the rodeo community, I applied to the university in Gödöllő, where I graduated in 2014 with a degree in Animal Breeding Engineering. My thesis focused on the Hungarian Border Collie population and canine color genetics. After graduating, I opened my first dog grooming salon and launched my business. I have always strived to expand my knowledge and was hungry for any extra information, which led me to participate in various seminars, webinars, and masterclasses. Meanwhile, I also became familiar with the world of dog shows. As a groomer, I meet many different breeds in my daily work. That is how I first fell in love with Miniature Schnauzers, while also sharing my life with other breeds. Deep down, however, I had always been drawn to sighthounds—their elegance and beauty fascinated me. Finally, in 2020, right in the middle of the Covid pandemic, I did not care about closed borders; I drove all the way to Poland for my very first Italian Greyhound, which I believe sealed my fate. Currently, I have 9 "iggy-babies" lounging on my couch, two of whom arrived from the United States. I am not lying when I say that I spend all my time with my dogs. Every single day we wake up together, they come with me—yes, all of them—to work, and finally, we go to bed together at night. For me, they represent home, peace (sometimes chaos), and an island of love.
