Welcome to my Italian Greyhound kennel page. In my work as a breeder, I try to pay attention not only to the beautiful, elegant and functional appearance, but also to the health, stable nervous system and harmonious development of the puppies. My goal is to improve the existing genetics and put the individuals with European appearance and genetics into a new perspective by including fresh, stronger and healthier American lines, while paying the greatest possible attention to the well-being and socialization of the little ones.
About me
Let me introduce myself, I am Krisztina Petromán. I have been surrounded by dogs and other small animals since birth, I rode horses for 15 years, I loved spending weekends at my cousin's farm, I spent all my free time with horses and dogs, and later this passion became my profession. I became a dog groomer in 2010, and immediately after that I studied animal husbandry at the University of Gödöllő, where I graduated in 2014. My thesis was about the Hungarian border collie population and the color genetics of dogs. I constantly tried to expand my knowledge, I was hungry for all kinds of additional information, so I participated in various seminars, webinars, master classes, and I also entered the world of dog shows. As a dog groomer, I come across many breeds in my everyday life, which is how I fell in love with miniature schnauzers, while sharing my life with other breeds as well. But deep down, I have always been drawn to greyhounds, fascinated by their elegance and beauty. Eventually, I became the owner of an Italian greyhound, which I think sealed my fate. I currently have 9 iggies lying on my couch. I am not lying when I say that I spend all my time with my dogs. We get up and go to bed together every single day. For me, they are a safe place, an island of calm (sometimes chaos) and love.
My philosophy
We are a small kennel, so I handle the logistics alone. Each mating is a conscious, well-considered decision. I can spend hours, days, weeks and months on the breedarchive website, looking through the pedigrees. I have very high expectations for my dogs and the puppies born under my wing, so I am fully aware of the advantages and disadvantages of each dog. With each mating, I try to coordinate the phenotype, i.e. appearance and behavior. Of course, in order for my dogs to be in excellent health and remain so for a long time, I consider health screenings and examinations essential. The health results of the parents ensure the best possible health foundations for the puppies. Puppies can move to their permanent home at the earliest at 10 weeks of age in Hungary, and at 16 weeks of age within the EU (22 days after the rabies vaccination) with a contract, invoice, vaccination book or passport, pedigree, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming and puppy package. I do not sell puppies for breeding. I would like the puppies from my kennel to share the greatest love in a loving family for at least 15 years. I like to maintain contact with new owners, thus helping them and the puppy to have the smoothest start on their journey together.
